Scotland Supporters in the heart of Yorkshire

St. Andrews Night

Yorkshire Tartan ArmyThere is a St Andrew's Night Celebration being held in York on Friday 28 November, by the York Hearts Supporters Club.

It should appeal to any Scots, not just Jambos. The Dinner is being held at the Park Inn Hotel in North Street.

Tickets are £25, which includes a hot meal (haggis, neeps and tatties or a veggie alternative); a disco; a late bar with plenty of malt whisky and a quiz, a raffle and auction.

We've got a couple of ex-Hearts players coming along - former goalkeeper Henry Smith from the 1980s and 90s (who also played for Leeds) and full-back Roy Kay from the 1970s (also played for Celtic and York City).

This is the second year The York Hearts Supporters Club has held the event, and Last year's dinner was a great success, and as well raising good club funds, it made £550 for the Guardian Angels appeal, which is raising money for new facilities in the high-dependency children's unit at York Hospital.

Sounds like a good night out! and for a very worthy charity, not to mention a great way of canvassing more members for the YTA!. If we can get enough interest in this, it might be possilbe to make it an official YTA function, and as well as getting the tickets, we will organise transport for everyone.
