Hi folks,
Just thought I'd post details here in case anyone was interested in a St Andrew's Night Celebration being held in York on Friday 28 November.
It's organised by York Hearts Supporters Club, but should appeal to any Scots, not just Jambos. It's at the Park Inn Hotel in North Street, right in the city centre. Tickets are £25, which includes a hot meal (haggis, neeps and tatties or a veggie alternative); a disco; a late bar with plenty of malt whisky and a quiz. There'll also be a raffle and auction. We've got a couple of ex-Hearts players coming along - former goalkeeper Henry Smith from the 1980s and 90s (who also played for Leeds) and full-back Roy Kay from the 1970s (also played for Celtic and York City).
This is the second year we've held the event. Last year's was a great success, and as well raising good club funds, it made £550 for the Guardian Angels appeal, which is raising money for new facilities in the high-dependency children's unit at York Hospital.
Drop me a line on gavinaitchison@hotmail.com if you're interested.
